Amy,here are the different types of persimmons,that I told you about.....the longish type is very bitter,onli used in making dried sweet ang ki.
Next are the wasabi plants,fresh~They looks the same like ginger,you need to scrape then to eat in your sushi or sashimi.
Next is the Natto.They are the fermented beans.They are very rich in vitamins and have an enzyme which could slow down aging.So all you ladies who would like to stay young looking should try this...hehe...
You can eat it with raw egg mixed in ,or make it with fried rice.Or you can just add a bit of soya sauce ,but be sure to stir it many times to get the sticky mixture.Then it is ready to be eat...

jle, wan to ask u, the wasabi that we eat is the portion grow inside the ground one rite ? but from the pic, it's look like not grow inside ground huh. This is 1st time I see wasabi plant lar.

wow!! JLE is giving a lesson on japanese traditional food, good job!! My girl and I like natto, but my japanese hubby doesn't like natto and he won't touch a bit of it unless i force him, who is japanese?! Many times our lunch is natto spaghetti (hahaha).

I tried Natto rice once at my ex japanese boss house. Taste not bad actually :)

hey tat time i saw the wasabi tree from a Japan documentary. In Singapore last time Takashimaya Cold Storage does the fresh one but its really expensive. I saw them grate it like radish like tat.

I saw it somewhere that they grew it in a clear water river for the wasabi plant.

I love the ang khi. It is one of my ....., it is my favourite fruit. Didn't know that they comes in more than just the round shape.

that's the wasabi plant huh. don't expect it to be like this, always tot it's something like chilli. interesting.

wondering if we can buy one and plant in a pot. need to be n cold temp?
