My resolution for this year is to be on a positive thinking on everything and to renew my mind, as I feel this is the best way to live and be peaceful and happy.

Christmas is near~~

Sorry for not updating my blog for so long,recently busy chasing dramas and chatting with my sisters.Well ..as you know, when women gets together and chat..it might take days...hahahahha...

Anyway,to change the subject,I would like to show you all my Christmas nativity.
Christmas is so near now and it is very cold now in Japan,I wonder if we would be able to get a white snowy Christmas this year.

This year,I plan to have a simple Christmas,a simple dinner and enjoy the wonderful day rejoicing with Our savior,Jesus Christ...thanking Him for coming into this world to take away our sins.Thank Lord for your wonderful kindness.

Every single evening,as I'm lying here in bed ,this tiny little prayer keeps running through my head:
God,bless all my family wherever they maybe,keep them warm and safe from harm,for they are so close to me.

And God,there is one more thing,I wish you could do;hope you won't mind me asking,
Please bless my computer too.Now I know that it is unusual,to bless a motherboard,
but listen just a second while I explain it to You,Lord.

You see,that little metal box,hold more odds and ends;inside those small compartments,rest so many of my friends.

I know so much about them,by the kindness they give,and this little scrap of metal ,takes me in to where they live.

By faith is how I know them,much the same as you.We share in what life brings us,and from that ,our friendship grows...

Please take a minute,from your duties above,to bless those in my address book,that's filled with so much love.

Wherever else this prayer may reach,to each and every friend,bless everyone who read this prayer,Lord.

A day at the University~~~

As my second son's ambition is to be a teacher,he is trying out several universities to see which is suitable for him.

Yesterday,he went to visit and tried out this university for education,called "Aichi University of Education".This is one of the best Education University in our prefecture and is a bit hard to enter due to its level .

After spending a day at this university,each student were given a paper bag (souvenir)as shown above with documents and other things regarding this university.

I took this opportunity to snap these two photos to post it here..hehe..

I really hope my son will be able to enter this university next year and be a teacher just like his father and fulfill his dream.May Our lord bless him with wisdom and knowledge and watch over him.

This is my latest toy,my car navigator.I managed to buy it at a reasonable price as the shop was having a campaign. It is very easy to set up and simple to understand.I try to test it by trying it out on the road and in the highway too.I found that it is very interesting and voice in car navigator is spoken in a simple ways and not confusing at all.The thing that I like about this car navigator is that,I can know exactly what time I would arrive at my destination.
Well,I love to play with new gadgets and now my outdoor playmate is my car navigator and my indoor playmate is my digital media player live, which let me watch YouTube ,Facebook and listen to Internet radio stations in my television set by wifi Internet connection.

Summer gadgets for 2011~~~

Today I would like to introduce you this year's summer gadget.As it is getter hotter day by day,we are so lucky to have so many summer gadgets to cool us down.

I would like to show you this year's, cooling sheet and pillow cooling sheet.

While I was shopping with my eldest son,we came across all those summer gadgets on display.What caught my eyes is this cooling sheets.It contain some sort of gel and is very cooling.It says that it can keep the body cool and brings down the body temperature as shown on the photo below.

My son bought a set to bring back to his hostel and he even present me a set too..He is so cheeky and says.."Okasan(mummy),you can have a cool night sleep and have a sweet dream when you use this sheets."

Let me describe to you more about theses sheets.It is beautifully sewn on a blue "cheong sam"material and feels like silk.I immediately put it on my mattress and pillow as shown in the photo below.

The feeling is superb..just like you are sleeping on a water bed and is very cooling.I do not need air conditioning in my room,just a fan is enough.The problem started in the middle of the night,suddenly I was very chilly due to this cooling sheets.

Can you imagine,I have to wake up in the middle of the night to put the cooling sheet under my bed sheet because I cannot sleep direct as shown on the photo...too cooling...kakakaaa..

The same goes to my pillow,I have to put the pillow cooling sheet under my pillow case.

After all these are done,I went back to sleep...I told my son about what happen during the night and he had a hearty laugh and says I am like a kampong lady(sua pah kau),don't know how to use new things...hahahahaa.

PPTV网络电视(iPhone version)

Today I would like to introduce you all a wonderful iPhone Apps called "PPTV". This apps can let us watch movies and dramas via our iPhone with either a 3G connection or a wifi connection.

I found that it got a lot of new movies and dramas and even my son like it as he can enjoy his japanese movies as it is in japanese and not dubbed. All the movies and dramas are in english,mandarin and japanese.

This is a very new apps as it was only released on 8 june 2011. Best about this apps is that it is a free apps.

Well now,I can watch a full length movie or a drama without have to search or press any button..
Speed is fast and image is also sharp..I like this PPTV Apps. So if anyone of you wish to try it,it is compatible with iPhone 3Gs, iPhone4, iPod touch(3 generation), iPod touch(4 generation) and ipad. It requires iOS4.0 or later.

Viber...for free phone calls and free SMS~~~

I would like to introduce "Viber"..it is an iPhone application which lets you make free phone calls and sent free text messages to other iPhone users that have Viber installed.
When you use Viber,your phone calls to any other Viber users are free and the sound quality is much better than a regular call.All you need is an internet connection :3G or wifi when available.

You can call any Viber user,anywhere in the world for free and also text them as much as you want..I have been using this Viber application and I can really says,its the best...Viber behave just like a phone,you do not need to login like skype or messenger..and when someone calls you,their name will appear,so you will know who is calling you..no spam callers..hehe..

You do not need to "add" your friends in Viber,as it will use your address book and you will be able to see your friends if they are using viber too as an icon of viber will appear next to their name.

It is very easy to use and simple.So now,I do not have to worry about high phone bills and expensive international phone calls as I have Viber in my iPhone!!!

My Mother's Day Present 2011~~~

For this year,my eldest son gives me a perfect Mother's Day present.It is a box of electric curlers.They are very cute and consists of 12 curlers with clips and pins.

I also receive from my other children other presents too..but i'm too lazy to upload it up...

That is me.the lazy mum...hehee..

I also received Mother's Day wishes from all my children and from my love ones too..

I would like to thank all my love ones(including an siang) for all the kind wishes to me and also all my dear friends who wish me too...

Enjoying My Heritage Trails of Penang in 2011

When I was back in Penang ,I went for my very own heritage tour by myself.I started out early at 9 am. by the Penang Rapid bus to the Jetty Terminal.

The first stop,I visited is the Chew jetty..and I found it so interesting,that I just can't stop taking so many photos and videos.Then I moved to the Tan's Jetty..

Next,I went to all those heritage roads like Acheen Street,Amoy Lane,Armenian Street,Victoria Street,Lebuh Ah Quee,Acheh Street and many other streets too.

I love to see those old buildings and also to take a good look at them..I was very sad that when I was living in Penang,I didn't really pay much attention to all these heritage roads and buildings.

Later I went on to "Little India"..King Street,Queen Street,Penang Street and also Jalan Kapitan Keling.

I went to visit several places of interest like Cheong Fatt Tse Mansion,Pinang Peranakan mansion and Dr. Sun Yat Sen Penang Base.I really enjoyed the best is The Peranakan Mansion as I love to see all those nyonya things and to see their culture,as I know part of that drama "Little Nyonya" was taken there.

I even visited the Kapitan Keling Mosque and the Penang Islamic Museum.The next stop,I went to is Khoo Kongsi..it is very interesting..

As I break for lunch in Kimberley Street and a short rest,I continued my journey to Cintra street,Campbell Street and then to Pitt Street and to Kampung Kolam.I stopped by in Off Steward lane to look at the old man famous for making joss stick,then I even have my fortune told by Aunty Sim who conduct her business near the corridor of "Yee Yang Sang" shop.

I even managed to take a photo of an Indian shop that collect all those old newspaper and old bottles,this is the first time,I know where all those old newspapers and empty bottles that my mother sells to...

I really enjoyed my heritage tour very much and when I have finished my tour,I noticed that it is almost 4.30pm.You know,I have been walking by myself since 9.30am till now,taking only a short break for lunch and I really feels,it is worth it. I would try to do it again on my next trip to Penang ..

Toyo Inn Hotel~~~

On Feb.16 I traveled by train to central air airport to catch my flight back to Penang.As my flight was on Feb.17 at 9.55am,I have no choice but to book a hotel near the airport to spent the night before. The hotel I choose is called Toyo-Inn Hotel.It is a very reasonable hotel with breakfast provided and free shutter bus to the airport and also back to the hotel at every 20 minutes interval.

After I checked into the hotel,I can see that ,it is very clean and cosy.It also have free Internet lan service,so I can surf the net and online anytime.It is also equipped with a personal safe lock,where I can keep my valuables.There is a flask and a small heater in case I need to boil water to make tea too.

After I have my bath in the cute bathroom,I watch some television and surfed the Internet for a while,I started to get bored.So I went down to the hotel and take the free shutter bus to the airport to walk around.

That is where I learned from the shutter bus driver,that there is a shutter bus servicing this hotel at every 20 minutes.The best part of this shutter bus service is that,it is free!!!

So after I enjoyed my walk about in the airport,I took the shutter bus back to my hotel again.Later that night,I enjoyed the free Internet service in my room.

The next morning,I went down to have my free breakfast provided by the hotel.They have the western version and the Japanese version buffet breakfast.I choose the Japanese buffet breakfast.It served Japanese riceballs(onigiri of various versions)miso soup(red n yellow version)pickles,tea,coffee and other Japanese dishes.

After my breakfast,I checked out of my hotel and take this hotel shutter bus to the airport for my flight back to Penang.

I enjoyed this hotel service very much,and when I returned to Japan on March14,I stayed again in this hotel as my flight was a late night flight.

I will definitely stay in this hotel again if I were to go back to Penang again as it is one of the best hotel I ever tried..good service and reasonable price.

New MP3~~~

While I saw shopping with my son for the FM Transmitter,I was also doing some spy shopping myself.I saw a cute MP3 player ,it comes in three colours as seen on the photos above...

I was so surprise that it can not only play ,audio files but also it can play videos too.

As the price was reasonable,I deceided to buy it and I choose a yellow colour one.It have an internal memory of 4GB and can also use a micro SD card up to 4GB too,so all together it can have a capasity of 8GB,not bad right?

So now with so many toys to keep me busy for a while,my son says that he wonder what else I would be after next?hahahahaa...

What to do? Having a playful mum must be very tiring for him,but he seems to enjoy taking me shopping whenever he comes home from the army.

My ALLKIT 2 FM Transmitter~~~

Today my son took me shopping again and this time ,we went to buy a FM Transmitter for my car .The reason is simple,both of us like to listen to our iPhone and songs with our MP3 players while driving.

So we went shopping after lunch,but the weather was very bad,snowing non stop...I was very worried about driving in such a weather as I am afraid of slippery road.

Luckily when we arrived in town ,the snow was falling not so heavy so we hurriedly rush into the shop.We search for several models but I have in mind,something that could be of multi purpose.I wanted it to be able to play ,not only iPhone,all types of ipods but also other MP3 players.

My son found one FM transmitter that is of multi purpose,not only can it play all iPhones,ipods but it can also play any types of MP3 players as well.

The photos above is this FM Transmitter,it is call ALLKIT 2...and the last photo is LCD surface, where we can choose and set the frequency.Sorry,cannot get good photo for this photo so no choice have to snap from catalog..heheheee..

It can also rotate so we can watch videos from iPhone or even place small MP3 player on the bottom stopper and at the meantime it also act as a charger.

Not bad right?It also have an USB slot at the side..very convenient..so now I do not need so many gadgets..with this ALLKIT 2...all is complete....

2011 annual dinner party

On Friday January 14th,my restaurant held its annual dinner party for all its employees.The dinner starts at 6:30pm,and was held in our restaurant.

The main course was shabu shabu,a Japanese meat steamboat dish and there were other side dishes such as mayonnaise prawns,fried chicken,salads,gyosa and many other dishes too.

The dinner started with our manager giving a speech to thank us all for our effort in helping the restaurant to make its sales goes up.During this Japanese new year,we have a very good sales and business was very good.

When the party was in full swing,almost all of us were drunk as beer and Japanese sake was serve non stop,and so many "kam pai"(Cheers).
I really enjoyed the steamboat as the beef was of a very special variety and it is also an expensive beef...kakakaka...so all of us eat as much as we could as it is an unlimited dinner party,and we could order any dish that we want!!!.

I really would like to thank my company who take the effort to organise this type of annual dinner yearly,as this is also the time we can all join in as a family of an organisation.Laughing and joking and sharing each other warmth and kindness.

Outing with family~~~

Yesterday being Sunday,my son takes me and my daughter for an outing in our nearby town called Toyohashi.

This town,Toyohashi is a much bigger town than the place where I stayed.The road have tramp service and is also a big city by itself..something like Kuala Lumpur.

When we arrived at Toyohashi,I have to park my car in the underground car park,and do you know that the underground car park is just below the city main road.I can imagine when I look up at the ceiling of the car park,buses ,car ,lorries are moving above...
As I am not so familiar with this city,My eldest son guided us around,taking us to the shopping mall and many other places.

When we were in the shopping mall,my son take us to a shop that sells games and game sets.I bought myself a PSP mahjong game and later we went to several shops and my eldest son treat us to lunch and we really enjoyed ourselves.

What a better way to enjoy ourselves on a Sunday afternoon..with our love ones with us and an outing to seal our bondship...May Our Lord blesses all my children always,Amen.

New Year Presents for 2011 New Year~~~

My eldest son came home on the 29th .December and he will celebrate Japanese New Year with us.He asked me what do I want for New Year and of course ,I says "Ang Pow"...kakakaaaa...
Then he ask what his youngest sister would like for new year and she (Saki) says,she would like a pair of boots.So ,my eldest son ask me to take them shopping at our nearby mall.

At the mall,while we were glancing at so many things on sale,my daughter saw a white Angora rabbit fur cap.It is very cute with a ribbon attached to its side and its feels very warm too.

Saki asked her brother(Takanori) if he would buy it for her as her new year present.Her generous big brother of course could not resist her request as they both are very close to each other.
At then,we move to the shoes department and search for boots to buy.My daughter found a beige velvet boots with two small pom poms attached to its side and the heels are not too high either.

On the other hand I too was glancing at some boots too,and I found one particular pair of boots of my liking.It is a pair of black leather boots with folds and its quite cute,my son noticed that I was testing it and he says he will buy it for me if I want it...heheeee..
As we have finished buying our boots,I walked over to the handbag department and glanced around the store.I found a soft leather brown handbag and it can be use two ways,as it also have a long strap and a short strap too.I like its texture as it is very soft,even though it is leather.

To make the story short,my son bought it for me too...hahhaaaa...so this coming 2011 year new ,I will have a beautiful pair of black boots and a soft leather handbag to pair with my new outfit.
What a wonderful way to start my new 2011 new year...wearing all the presents from my love ones and waiting to receive my "Ang Pow" too...A Mother's pride and happiness...

Kumguat or cumquats~~~

Today as I was doing my shopping,I saw some "kum quats" on sale.In case those of you don't know what is kum quats,let me tell you about them.

They are a type of yellow limes,usually the Chinese would love to buy them for Chinese New Year,as it is believe to bring luck,as the pronunciation of it sounds like,"Gold Luck"in Cantonese.

Well,coming back to my story,I bought about a kilo of these kamquats,then I make three types of receipe with them.

One of the first recipe is I make sweeten kamquats...The taste is like the ones that are sold in Malaysia(sweeten limes).

First thing I do is ,I wash all the kamquats first,then I wipe them dry with paper towels. Then I gently slice them not too deeply,and used a tooth pick to remove their seeds.The reason why I have to remove their seeds is because they will be bitter,if the seeds are in them.

Then I boil the ones which I want to make into sweeten kumquat in a pot of rice water(water that is use after washing the rice)for 3 mins.The reason is by using the whitish rice water to boil it is to take off its bitterness.

Then after 3mins,I drained off the water .In another saucepan,I put a cup of water and add about 10 spoonful of sugar and a bit of salt,then I add in the boiled kumquats and simmers about them minutes until the syrup is thick.
Then I just cool it and transfer it into a container.

Next,is I prepare the pickles kumquats.I pour some salts into a container,then I add some kumquats into them(fresh kumquats),then I pour in some more salts to cover them up.I do all these in rotations and after they are finish,you can see how they look at the photo above.It can be kept for several years and you can use it when you have a sore throat or cough.Just mix 2 tablespoon of the mixture and add warm water to it and drink.

Then ,is I make kumquat liquor..which is good for health.It is very easy to make.Just add sugar into the white liquor(depend on how sweet you want),then use a spoon to mix it until the sugar dissolved,then add in the fresh kumquat.It can be drink in about a month's time.It can also be stored for at least six month.

I love this kumquat liquor very much and is nice to drink,either chilled or warm..

Miracle Fruits~~~

Today I am going to talk about about a type of plant called "miracle fruits"(synsepalum dulcificum). It bears fruits which are red in colours and looks like red berries.

What so special about these berries is that they can change sour fruits like lemon or lime or any sour fruits to taste sweet.

The fruits when eaten cause sour fruits like lemon or lime to taste sweet because this miracle fruits contains "miraculin"which is usually used commercially as a sugar substitute.The above photo shows how it looks like when it is dissected,you only eat the fleshy part and not the seed.

The "miraculin" which is in these fruits change the taste buds of our tongue,and that is why we feel sour taste sweet.

I read that in Japan,this "miracle fruits" is popular among people with diabetics and dieters.It is not so differcult to buy these "miracle fruit"plants as they are usually sold at nuresery home centre.

Miget and UV cut umbrellas~~~

Today, I would like to show you all two types of umbrellas. One is an ordinary folding type,but on the inside of the umbrella,it is coated with a silver coating with is able to block out the sunlight(UV cut).

What difference would you ask about this? Okay..I will let you know the answer..an ordinary umbrella will still be able to abstract the heat from the sun when we use it,but an UV cut umbrella is very cooling when you use it,it is able to block out the heat.

Another umbrella is I want to show you is a midget umbrella,which is popular in Japan.The photo you see is the size when compare with the ordinary fold type.

See how small it is,also it is very light and can fit into our handbag.I usually carry it coz it could be use both ways..rain or shine..

They are cute,right..

My "Fu Kuai Fah" blooms~~~~

Today,I was very happy when I came home from work,I noticed that both plants of my "Fu Kuai Fah" blooms with each flower on each plant.

So I take this opportunity to snap a few photos to show you all and also to show my dear friend,Amy Cheah,as it is her special request that I show her the flowers when they bloom...

They turn out to be a beautiful pink colour,and I also noticed a few small bugs near the bloomed flower.

Maybe in a few days time,I will be able to see more flowers blooming on my two "Fu Kuai Fa" plants.

Thank You,Lord for these wonderful plants and thank You for letting my "Fu Kuai Fah",able to bloom.

At Last Found "FU KUAI FAH" in Japan~~~

Today after work,I went to a flower nursery to look for more Jasmine Flowers to buy.I was so surprised that they are doing a promotion on "Fu kuai fah"(desert rose)..The Japanese called them..desert-rose.

I have been searching for this plant for so many years,as I use to see many families in Malaysia having this plant in their houses(indoors and outdoors).

To let those people who does not know what is "Fu kuai fah"..let me introduce this plant and its flowers to you.

The original name of this plant is Adenium Obesun,or usually referred as desert-rose.We can put them outside when the weather is warm and if the weather falls below 10 degrees,it is better kept in the house as a house plant.

I really do not know how this plant gets the name of "Fu Kuai Fah"..which means flowers of prosperity.
Anyway,coming back to my story..hehehhee..I was so in love with these plants ,that I bought two of these plants back home.I even bought two big flower pot and two packs of gardening soil.

When I arrived home,I transferred my two "Fu Kuai Fah"plants into the two big flower pots and fills them up with the gardening soil which I bought.

At present ,they have a small flower on each plant..and I can't wait to see how the flowers turn out to be.Will they looks like the "Fu Kuai Fah" flowers (which isn't mine),I purposely posted on top of this post for you all to see???

Well,my friends...lets all wait and see what colour and design my "Fu Kuai Fah" will be...but now I can see the flower bugs pinkish in colour..

I will let you all know again when my "Fu kuai fah" is in full bloom...

How to bless my family and myself daily~~~

I would like to share with you all on how I do the blessings over myself and my family daily.

The first thing I do after washing my face each morning,is that I look at myself in the mirror and speaks words of blessing over myself.

I would speak blessings like .."This is the day,the LORD has made for me..It is a beautiful day,a joyful day,a pleasant day and a smooth and wonderful working day for me,and nothing bad will come my way..and I will rejoice in it."

Then I would speak to myself in the mirror and looks into my eyes.."I am good,I am kind..I am happy,I am joyful..I am healthy...I will not be in fear or worry as I have the Lord in me..He will watch over me and protect me."

Do you know,it is written in the bible,that you can either bless yourself or curse yourself..
I can really tells you the truth..It does wonders in my life..Things started to work out fine and even when they don't ,I see them on the positive side as I know they are not here to stay..

Another wonderful thing which I would love to share with you all is I love to hang and paste good and meaningful scriptures all over my house..and even in the toilet.

For those of you who have read the bible,would understand what I mean.There are a lot of encouraging verses in the bible.
They are really the keys to all problems,and even when you do not have any problems..they are encouraging words from our Lord..

I always get very peaceful when I read those scriptures,and I love the peace and joy ,they brings into my family..
Thank You Lord..for the wonderful scriptures and also thank You for always watching over me...

A flower from my young memories~~~

A few weeks ago,when I was in the flowers nursery,I happened to find a special flower plant.It was a flower plant by the name of Antigonon Leptopus (coral vines).It is a beautiful climbing vine plant and is easy to grow.

It can grows in almost any soil and needs a full sun for best bloom.What I love most about this plant is that the flowers looks like pink grapes...

I remembered when I was in my childhood..my neighbor had planted this vine plant on her fence,and we children would always goes to her house and plucks these beautiful flowers to play,when we were young.

I remembered that we use to make pink flowers crowns with this flowers ,and even make pink Hawaiian garlands to play.
I always remember that neighbor's house..it always have a pink fence,because these vine plants blooms pink flowers whole year long.

I really hope my beautiful vine will be able to stand this winter as I hate to see it dies away and I also hope I could get a pink garden fills with all these lovely pink flowers.

I really thank God for letting me to find back this vine plant that brings back good memories of my childhood.Thank you Lord...Amen.

My beautiful jasmine (bunga melor)~~

On Friday after work,I went to my nearby home centre to look for some flowers to buy.As summer is already here,I was thinking of planting some flowering plants in my garden.

I was very surprised when I saw they were selling the jasmine flowers(bunga melor)..what I meant was the type of jasmine flowers(bunga melor) which I have seen in Malaysia.

I used to plant another type of jasmine in my garden which is the vein types,but the fragrance was not so nice.

I still remembered the type of jasmine flowers(bunga melor) fragrance in Malaysia..which is very sweet and strong.So this time,I found out the original name of this jasmine plant is called "Arabian Jasmine" or "Maid of Orleans".

The wonderful thing is that I managed to see so many jasmine flowers blooms,two days after I replant them into my garden.

The best part is the strong and sweet fragrance of the jasmine flower, fills my dining room and kitchen each time when there is a breeze of wind...

Iris Flower Festival at Night~~~

This is the season of the Iris Flower in Japan.Last night ,my daughter and I went to see the night elimination of this beautiful flower.

The park where this beautiful flowers are planted is very beautiful..the atmosphere is very peaceful and calm.

After we have taken our dinner,we set off to this park,as it will end in June 16th. There were many people in the park.We manage to find a parking space luckily.

There were many sport lights shining on to these flowers,as in this park..there are many varieties of Iris flowers planted here and of many colours too..

The evening air was cool,and I can see many people taking photos,I tried to shoot a video but due the sport lights over there,its makes the video have blues lines..which is not nice..so in the end I just snap a few photos to show you all..

My daughter and I enjoy ourselves very much,and we stroll for a while and enjoy the evening breeze and relaxed ourselves...

I have always wanted to try upload videos in youtube,but due to slow internet connection,I was not able to do so.

Now with my new internet connection,I tried my first upload in youtube...I was very tenced as it is also the first time for me to try out how to make a slide photos display and how to put in the audio.

This is only a very short video,but I do hope to be able to do more better ones in future..hehehee

2010 Mother's Day~~~

On this 2010,I would like to wish all my online friends who are already mothers, a very Happy Mother's Day. May you always have all the happiness and joy,that your children gave to you.

On this 2010 Mother's Day..I get a portable box fan from my eldest son..reason is that he says I can move around the house when I am online,and it will be very comfortable to carry a box fan instead of the usual fan..as summer is just round the corner...So cheeky of him...hahhhaa..

My second son present me a pot of white bougainvillea,as he know that I love bougainvillea plants,and he manage to find a pot white have white flowers instead of the usual red colour flowers.

I didn't know that, he and his elder brother were together ,when they went shopping for their Mother's Day presents..kekekeke...coz my eldest son also got for me a small pot of red cactus.

This red cactus is believed to bring happiness and luck,that what the japanese says anyway..

I was touched by his kindness when he present me that red cactus...I could not decide where I should put it,and in the end..I found the perfect place to place it...on the window in the upstairs toilet...kakakaa..maybe I can keep looking at it each time,I visit the toilet...hahahhaa..

My daughter bought me a cute Mother's Day pack..inside is a bar of chocolate and she penned her message on the back of the chocolate..saying "mother..thanks for everything(in Japanese) and in English..she wrote.."Thank You,My Mother ! by Saki"..kakakaaa..Inside that Mother's pack was also a box filled with a red Carnation and a small teddy bear..so cute..

On this special day ,I also received Happy Mother's Day wishes from all my love ones..from Japan,Malaysia and also from Australia..

Thank you,all my love ones(Angie)..you are all so sweet to remember me on this special day...I love you all..and may our Lord always bless you..

Japanese Archery and Kendo competitions~~~

Today is our area's shrine celebration,and every year during this event,all the schools near our areas take part in the Japanese Archery and Kendo competitions.

This year,my daughter is also taking part in the Japanese Archery competitions,so I went to cheer her up.

Japanese Archery is a very old cultural sport,and it is quite difficult to master it.The Bow and Arrow are also a bit different from the western countries type,as I can see that,the Bow is very big..more taller than my daughter..and they have to wear the traditional Archer's outfit too.

Other than the Japanese Archery competition I went to see the Kendo's competition as my hubby was one of the judges there,today.

Those pupils competing in the Kendo's event also were required to wear the Kendo's outfit,complete with the head gear too.

I was surprise to see so many young students being so good in the Kendo's competition.It is just like walking back into the yester years..

I felt it is very good for a country to still preserve the old and traditional sports,as we can still be able to see and enjoyed what the people of early days did.

I do hope that all countries will also preserve their traditional sports so that the future generations will be able to enjoy and participate in them too.

My HI-Speed Wifi Router~~~

Recently,I have been missing in action because I was busy making arrangement to have the Hi-Speed Internet to be installed in my house.

I went to the computer shop and seek my favourite technician's advice,on which Wifi router's model is best for my house.

As I will be using many computers when all my kids are in the house,I would need to get a good Wifi router so that my Internet speed would no lag.

My technician introduced me this model: WHR-HP-G300N/U...it is a high power router..
It can transfer waves up to 300 Mbps and it also can eliminate dead spots like over walls and doors..

When the technician came to install this router for me,I tested it with my netbook computer..
I brought the PC downstairs and see if it can still receive the waves or not..
To my surprise..the waves is still very strong even at a distance of upstairs and downstairs..

I was very happy as from now onwards ,I can still online when I am cooking...kakakaaa..

Then ,the next thing is, I tested it with all my house computers on,and see how is the speed of the Internet...
The answer is ,non of my house computers lag..Now I know what they meant by saying it is a High Speed Power Router..

To end this post..now you know why I was missing in action for this past week..busying enjoying my broadband Internet...!!!!!!

Wimax..Wimax..Wimax~~~

Nowadays in Japan,almost any electrical shops you go,you can see them promoting wimax..

They are also giving unbelievable campaign offer if you subscribe with them.

As some of you already knows that my Internet line is quite slow,I decided to subscribe to this wimax,just to see how it is.

Let me tell you a bit about this wimax router .Wimax in japan have to types to connect..one is by the USB stick type and another is by the router type.

I subscribe the router type...it is so small (palm size)as you can see in this photo.
The unique selling point of this router is that it can stay up for about 2.5 hours but if the battery runs out ,you can easily plug into your pc's usb port and be use as a modem..not bad..right?
It also have five LED lamps which are indicators for Power,WLan,Battery,Wimax and signal straight.When I am at home,I like to use it as a modem,so I just slot in the USB cable and I cn use it whole day long.Sometimes,I felt that it looks more like a portable HDD than a modem..hehee..
Sometimes when I am out..I just put it in my handbag and go wireless..kakaka..

There is one more thing which is causing me headache..Two days after I subscribed to wimax,I found out a higher speed Internet line have already enter my area..a line which I waited for years.
Long story short,I subscribe to that line and they are coming to do the wiring construction in my house on April 21th,which is next Wednesday.
My headache is now I have to decide whether I should terminate my wimax line or not..when that land line comes in...

I would like to introduce this wonderful radio streaming application to all those who are using iphone,blackberry or windows mobile hand phone.

My Cute mini DVD player~~~

Today,I am going to show you all my new and cute DVD player. Last Friday,being my shopping day(sau poh)..I was strolling in the electrical shop,just browsing around as they have sent me a postcard to claim my birthday points of 500 points.

I didn't have anything particular to buy,so I thought of just buying a SD card ,then to claim my points.As I was browsing around,these cute mini DVD players caught my eyes,so I check out ,what so special about them.

I found out that they are about 13x13.8x3.3 cm,the screen is about 4.7 inch and weight about 510gms only.It can last about 2 1/5 hrs if use with the chargeable battery and also can be use anytime with the A/C adapter.

It also included an AV cable so,we can watch it via our T.V and also a car battery adapter.

It can also play CD disc and also play digital recorded(CPRM) disc,plus the usual DVD,DVD +R/RW.. DVD-R/RW..and also came with an earphone plugs...

The best part of it is,it is anti shock,and it can withstand the shock when drop ,of course not from a high building la...kakakaka..

It is very convenient,and can be put inside our handbag to carry around ...

I can't resist it ,so I bought a pink colour one..and carry it in my handbag,

so I can watch my DVD when I am waiting to fetch my kids or when I am waiting to collect my medicine from the clinic..

Don't you think they are cute???Especially my pink colour one!!!

New tyres~~~

I have been wondering when I would be able to change my car's tyres..and so I went to several shops and compared their prices.
In Japan,usually all shops have their own price tag...some shops might sell their things cheaper than another shop.

I have several shops in mind,but I am still not happy with their quotations,so I kept delaying from changing my car's tyres.

Today,as I was going home after collecting my medicine from the clinic,I accidental saw a tyre shop having a sale campaign.

I was just curious about it and so I drove in and have the salesman quote me with 4 new tyres for my car.

I could not believe the price which he give me the quotation and also there are so many advantages which comes together with the new tyres.

The price of the 4 new tyres are rather cheap ,as that shop is having a sales campaign.
They are offering free repair for puncture,free tyre alignment with no time limit..not bad ,right?

So I decided to have my cars tyres changed immediately there..

While I was waiting for them to change my car's tyres,there is an auto drink machine in the office..and it is free..

I have three drinks while waiting for them to change my car's tyres..2 warm milk coffee and a cold chill cocoa...hehehe..

My 2010 Birthday~~~

Today is my birthday,March 12th.My daughter make me simple birthday cake and I bought some fried chicken and make some maki sushi as we were not very hungry..hehee

I don't make a big celebration today because I actually celebrated last night with my kids.We went out to buy my birthday presents and later my son treat me to a Japanese BBQ
dinner.

I am going to show to you all my birthday presents from my love ones..At the bottom photos are the presents before they are open.

I would like to thank my love ones for all the wonderful presents ,that they gave me.I receive a crystal bracelet,a hangbag and two pairs of onise earring...just the perfect gift on my birthday..

I can wear my crystal bracelet,put on my onise earrings and carry my brand new hangbag to work tomorrow,heheheeeee

I am also very touch by my online friends ,who take the time to wish me birthday wishes..thankyou ,my dear online friends...for remembering my birthday..

Bible Covers~~~

Today I am going to write about Bible covers.In Japan it is very common to see Christian people reading their bible with the bible cover on.

I find this amusing as I thought we would just wrap our bible with book wrappers like our textbook.
But when I was in church,I noticed almost all the people who are in church uses bible covers.

I tried to order them online but was not successful as the type of Bible ,that I am using is the bilingual type.The size is between large ad medium size..and they is no such size on sale.
So the next thing for me to do is to sew my own Bible covers.I take a look at my friends bible covers,and then draw an image in memo pad.

Later,after church,I went to buy a meter of cloth which is beige squares design and two long zippers.
Later I went to buy some stickers to decorate my Bible covers.

When I arrived home,I measure out my Bible's size and cut a dummy image on an old newspaper.

Later I transfer the newspaper image onto the cloth material and start sewing.
I also sewed a pen holder on one side of the bible cover,and even make two pockets on the inner sides of the bible covers.

I can put my memos in the inner pockets of the bible covers and a pen to write down the memo when the pastor is preaching.

I managed to sew a smaller bible cover for my christain song book too.I then paste down the beautiful cherries stickers and a cross design to beautify my bible and my christain song book.

The difference between my bible and my christain song book cover is that my christain song books cover has a row of cherries along it.

Not bad idea,right?Anyway..I am very satisfied with my handmade Bible cover...a master piece..I would say...hahhhhaaaaaa...

Hi-Tech Car Park~~~

Today,I am going to talk about a hi-tech car park in Toyota city.This is the first time I saw such a car park.

As we were going to a karaoke,we have to park our car in the karaoke car park,I was very surprise that its car park was so hi-tech.

What I meant by hi-tech ,is that you only need to drive your car in,then the attendant will just push the remote button.No one is inside the auto car park,only the attendant stand outside the auto car park to push the remote button.

Then,the car will automatically went up the lift and park by the location selected by the attendant.The best part is when we went to collect our car when we want to go home.The attendant just put the button on the remote,and our car came out.The best part is that it is automatically reversed,facing us...so I do not need to reverse my car.

I can just start the engine,and drove straight out..hi tech,right?

Can you imagine the hi tech car park is 18 level high?I wish our country can also build car park like this,then we don't have to find a parking space so hard or even worry about thieves stealing things from our.

Who would dare climb up an automatic car park which is 18 level high???Unless he want to commit suicide.

Chinese new year eve dinner 2010

This year 2010,I went to cerebrate my Chinese new year with my sister,Kacang and her family in Toyota City.I went there with my daughter,Saki...

We have our reunion Chinese new year eve dinner at a Chinese restaurant.It started with a cold dish of crispy salad..then the next dish was sweet and sour pork.

Then after that we have gyo sa,and then fried rice..later a nice dish came,which reminds me of my mum favourite dish..which is steam radish cake...(pek tau kueh).

Later after we finished or fried rice,many other dishes also came..and we were very full.The restaurant have a very nice atmostsphere.The entrance is also very beautiful.

We really enjoyed our dinner and after dinner we went to karaoke and spend our time to open the new year.

Funny thing is I sang until sore throat..just just imagine having a soar throat on the new year...hahaha..That is what we call a pasar malam singer..kekeke..

Well let's hope 2010,will be a prosperous and happy new year for all of us..

Beans throwing Day~~~

February 3rd, is called "Setsubun"in Japan.It is not a public holiday,but on this day,the Japanese will perform beans throwing ceremony.."Mame Maki".

Traditionally Japanese will throw roasted soya beans,shouting .."Oni wa so to"(get out demons),

"fuku wa uchi"(come in happiness).Nowadays..family usualy mixed those roasted soya beans ,with peanuts and other kinds of nuts..

My family uses a mixture of roasted soya beans,peanuts,roasted chestnut,sweets,ect...

Reason is simple..when my kids were small time..they will run after their father when he throw the beans..and the will run to collect all these beans and nuts...

These roasted soya beans are also know as "fuku mame"(fortune beans). It is believed that people can be healthy and happy,if they picked up these beans and eat them during "mame maki".

Beans throwing ceremony (Mame Maki) are held in shrines and temples all over Japan too..

People visits these shrines and temple to pick up these beans as they are referred as beans of fortune.Usually,these shrines and temple will invite "Sumo wrestlers or celebrities" to throw these roasted soya beans from a platform in the temple.
It is very interesting event..and I will be going to collect my "good fortune"(roasted soya bean) tomorrow from my nearby temple...hehehe...if I can finish work early...

Ornamental Cabbage(Brassica Oleraceaov)~~

In winter ,there are not many flowers blooming.I like to show you all a type of "flower",which is actually from the cabbage family.It is called .."ornamental cabbage"..They are very beautiful..and they comes in many colours,from white ,pink,purple or red..They are for decorations only as I haven't heard of anyone eating them..kekeke

The ornamental cabbage looks much like their edible cousins,but the ruffled foliage is much fancier and more colourful.Ornamental cabbage do not tolerate summer heat,but are extremely cold-tolerant.They can survive winter temperatures as low as 5 degrees,The more cold the temperature is ,the brighter the colour will be. Some streets in Japan are decorated with these beautiful ornamental cabbages in the center of the road.Their colours are very beautiful and very contrasting on the streets.

It is very easy to take care of these ornamental cabbage as it does not need so much water,reason is it can get enough of the winter moisture and snow..

I love to plant these ornamental cabbage in my house and as they gives me a sense of peace and I also love those beautiful colours..

My eldest son's coming of age ceremony~~

Japan cerebrate the "coming of age ceremony "(成人の日）on January 10th.this year...

This year my eldest son cerebrate his coming of age(成人の日） on this day.

It start from morning..all the young gentlemen and ladies who have cerebrated their 20th birthday recently but have not yet reach 22 years old will ceremony this day in Japan.

Invitation card will be sent from the city council to them to attend the "coming of age"ceremony in the city hall on that day(January10th.)

They will be able to meet all their old classmates..as most of them are all working elsewhere or some even married.

After the ceremony,they will take photos of each others and also a photo will be taken in the city hall as to keep in remembrance ,"coming of age"youth of 2010.

Then after the ceremony,they will go drinking as in Japan,they are considered as adults after this day.So most of the youngsters will spray each other with beer after the photos taking,as to celebrate that they are now adults..

In the evening,a get together reunion dinner will be held in a restaurant.They will all attend it and chat about old times and also to gossip about who and who..hahahaa..

They will chat and drink until the early hours..and my son came back around 2a.m ..Well his father didn't scold him as we understand ,this is his special day.

Time sure pass very fast,as it seems like just yesterday..my son is still at home and still schooling..but from today onwards..he will be an adult and make his own decision.

Well ,dear son,do be a good adult and do take care of yourself from now on,I will always be here whenever you need me...

Well thought toilets~~~

Toilets are very important to us,as we have to use it as long as we are alive.

What's more important is that ,it must be build to our advantage..

I like some of the public toilets in Japan..they are usually clean and also ,some of them are build to adjust to the elderly people.

Take a look at this toilet for example...if you notice clearly..it is a sensor auto flush toilet.So no need to worry about entering a dirty unflushed toilet.

Then ,take a look at the side wall..it has a bar handle for the elderly people to hold and help them get up from the toilet seat.Then next to the disinfection liquid container is the emergency call button socket.In case of emergency,you can alway press the orange button,and help will be on the way..

So thoughtful of the designer..who think of all these wonderful ideas..

Then notice the white box just above the toilet papers rack...it is a disinfection liquid for wiping the toilet seat..in case you want to sit on a germ free toilet...

I feel it would be wonderful if all the toilets in the world are build like these..

But it must also have health conscious people who have the decency not to dirty the toilets after using them..Don't you think so???

A snowy 2010 beginning~~~

This year on Jan 1st.was a snowy day.Just take a look at my car and you will understand...hahahaa..

On Jan 1st.was a very cold day..I hate to wake up on such a day..luckily,all my kids was sleepy as they stay up the whole night ...

It continue to snow until Jan 2nd...I didn't have any holidays as I have to work until Jan 5th.,so I just update my blog to let you all know that I tired due to too busy working..and still missing you all,who is on holidays....hehehehe...

This year Christmas is one of the best Christmas I ever celebrated..
coz my eldest son is at home for his holidays until 5th Jan.2010.

As in japan,winter bonus is in December..so I pull my eldest son to go Christmas shopping with me..hehehe..(yes..you all guess right!!! need him to buy my Christmas present!!! kakakakakaaa).

I was very surprise when he leads me to the games department in the shopping mall..He says he will present me a PSP set..he says he always noticed ,I peeping at him and his brother whenever they played their PSP games.

In the end..he bought a light metallic blue PSP and a blue case for me inclusive of a "mah jong"game,a digital T.V tuner(so that I can watch digital tv)and a 4GB.memory stick.
My second son bought me a racing F1 game..he says I can drive until I go crazy..kekeke..and my daughter bought for me a set of game consisting,space invaders,pac man ,car racing and others..

So..I have 3 games disc,a PSP set with all its incentives.. Before I wrote this blog,my son teaches me how to put videos into my PSP and also music files..so now when I'm fed up of playing games,I can listen to music or watch my videos or watch digital television in my PSP..not bad ,right??

My kids always says that although I am a middle age woman,but my mind is still like a teenager..kakakaa..

So this evening after our Christmas dinner..my kids and I all sit in the living room and played our PSP games..then maybe later we will play our "Play Station3" game..(now you know why my kids says that I am like a teenager?)

This year our Christmas dinner all bought..I was too lazy to cook..

But they are still delicious..and we also drink our non alcohol champagne

Before I end my post ,I would like to wish everyone "Merry Christmas"....and a "Happy New Year".

Snowing at last~~~

Winter is here at last..and these few days,temperature drops so low that almost everything outside is frozen.

Take a look at my garden hose..want to water my plants also cannot...water soon frozen...hahhhaaaa..

I can't drive to work immediately every morning as the my car is also frozen or covered with snow.This morning,it didn't snow,but the temperature was so low that my car become frozen like an ice cube...kakakakaa..

So I have to pour hot water on to the wind screen to melt the ice,and to on the heater in my car for about 10 minutes to warm the engine and also to warm the inside of the car..

Even the field are frozen and cover with a thin layer of snow...It is always like this..and eventually,snow will falls..

I do hope warm weather will come soon as I hate cold weather..

Hate to wake up every morning,coz my bed is so warm and cozy...

Then I always says to myself,another 5 minutes,again and again,and

eventually..I cook breakfast late..kakakakkaa..

My Church(Toyokawa Baptist Church)

Today I would like to show you all, the church which I attend in japan. The name of my church is Toyokawa Grace Baptist Church.

The pastor's name is Pastor Yoichi Hatakawa.He is a very friendly pastor and his wife is also very kind.

I goes to this church every Sunday morning ,and the people there are all very polite and kind.

They helps me to find the verses in the bible as in japanese bible,the names are not pronounce the same as the english bible.

So,I have to buy a bilingual bible in other to follow the preaches..

The churches in japan are simple in appearance,but I believe it is not the appearance that counts..it is more important to be there in order to learn more about our Lord..

I always enjoy my sunday services very much and I always feels very refresh and happy after I attend my sunday church..

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way.The Lord be with all of you. (2 Thessalonians 3:16)

A peaceful and relaxing Sunday~~

Today is Sunday..I woke up at about 7am..wash my face and did my morning prayers,then I went downstairs to make breakfast.

We usually have bread on Sunday..so I was very free and I always cook my favourite Malaysian dishes on Saturday or Sunday.

So ,today I decided to pamper myself with my favourite "Nasi Lemak"..

Then I will go to church at about 10am and be back at about 12.30pm.

As I will be a bit late today,I ask my second son to cook his own lunch for himself and his sister.He says he will cook spaghetti,so I just let him cook it himself.

When I came back ,I was so surprise that he did cook it and his sister loves it so much..I can't help it as I was very curious about how it taste like..so I asked him to let me eat a mouthful...hehehe..

The taste was no bad..with the cheese topping..
But the problem was ,when I start eating my "Nasi Lemak" with them on the same table...Both of them complained that my sambal belacan "stint"..hahaa..

My kids says it smells like their unwashed sneakers..I scolded them not to speak like that as it would spoil my appetite..hahhaa..
So both of them enjoyed their spaghetti and me,my "Nasi Lemak"...
It is so funny..when I was staying in malaysia..I don't even lik to eat "Nasi Lemak"..but now,I can enjoy it and never even get fed up with it...just as like the others malaysian foods..

My 2-Way Bluetooth~~~

Ever since I started to use cellphone,I always wanted to use bluetooth ear-set.

The reason is when I use the ordinary headphone,the wire keeps tangerling up and sometimes,it get hooked to things nearby.

But the thing is that almost all bluetooth sets ,only have the speaking mic type
which I don't like.I like to listen to music,songs and podcast via my cell phone,and if ,with the ordinary type , I can't listen to them.

So I always wish, I could find a bluetooth set which can have a 2 way system..can listen to music and also make calls or receive calls.

I found some,but their prices is just not in my budget..But yesterday..while I was shopping in my favourite computer shop...

I saw a set which says "BLUETOOTH in 2 WAYS"...

My eyes also pop out,so I still can't believe the price...very reasonable.

I ask the sales man to test it out on my phone,and tells him ,if it is not compatible with my cell phone,I will not buy...he says okay...

This set also comes with a home adapter and also a car adapter..and also a wire earphone,if in case you want to hear music or voice by both ears..but I don't use that,coz the main Bluetooth set is already enough for me to hear my music or voices..kekekee..

To make a long story short...I bought it..now as I am typing this post...I am listening to the music in my cell phone via my 2way bluetooth...

I consider this will be my Christmas present for myself...heheheh...

The power of Aroma Oil~~~

Today,I will like to introduce to all my friends who is reading this blog of mine about the power of aroma oil.

I learn about the power of aroma oil from my sister,Jessi.

She told me various type of aroma oil can have various effects on our body.

For excample ,by mixing peppermint ,eucalyptus and lavender will have a relief on our body if we have sleeping probelm or stuffy nose or headache.

Oneday as I was searching for these various type of oil,I accidently saw one type,which have just the perfect combination.

It has all the various oil for all these effects.

I bought it and tried it,and it sure does wonders for me,and it did relief me of my probelms and also relaxes me..mind and body.

The above photo is the aroma oil defusser,and the vapour is coming out from the top...

I try to use this aroma oil therapy as often as I can..and believe me,...it sure does wonders...

Well..to my dear sister,Jessi...thanks so much for introducing me to the world of aroma oil therapy..

A Beginning to a Better Life~~~

I am sure ,we sometimes do feel so piss off when things started to go wrong ,or sometimes,things just don't happpen the way we expected it to.
There are also days when we feels that the world is not fair to us...

Have anyone of you ever wondered,why did this probelm occurred to us,when things goes wrong ,or something bad or sad happen to you?
Sometimes ,we asked people who we considered friends,and they gives us advices..
but sometimes,we are too stressed out even to tell someone.
I am sure ,deep inside our hearts,almost all of us have something..

I recently found a pastor named Joel Osteen,you can see in this link,it is a youtube's link.In this link ,he preach about "Programming your mind for victory".
The things he talks about are very simple and useful,as after a few of his preaches about other things,I found out that ..almost all the preaches he talked about things which did occurred in our life.

The things he preach about did happened to us,they might be just a few hours ago,or a few days before, or they did happen in our life.
That is what I found to be so interesting.

You can find more of his preaches in this link,there are so many interesting preaches that I am sure you will also like.
It is not necessary to be a christain to be able to listen to preaches.
I feel if that talk is of common sense and I can agree with what he says..It should be alright.

After listening to several of his preaches,I noticed that I did change my thinking of my life and of other people too.
If you were to open and see the second link,you will be able to download those podcast and listen to them when you are free.
I always listen to mine when I am cooking or when I have free time.

So I do hope all my dear friends would also please do spare a few minutes, listen to his preaches..as I would like to pass my happiness to you all too...

Well ,that nothing to lose ,if after hearing what pastor Joel Osteen teached us how to life our life in a better way,when in the end,we are happy with our future..

Maybe ..we are suppose to meet the wrong people before meeting the right one,so that,when we finally meet the right person ,we will know how to be grateful for that gift.

Maybe... it is true that we don't know what we have until we lose it,but it is also true that we don't know what we have been missing until it arrives.

Maybe..The brightest future will always be base on a forgotten past;
after all you can't go on sucessfully in life until you let go of your past mistakes,failure and heartache.

Maybe...you should hope for enough happiness to make you sweet,enough trials to make you strong,enough sorrows to keep you human,and enough hope to keep you happy.

Maybe..the happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything ,they just make the most of everything that comes their way.

Maybe..happiness waits for all those who cry,all those who hurt,all those who have searched,and all those who have tried,for only they can appreciate the importance of all the people who have touched their lives.

Maybe..you should do something nice for someone every single day,even if it is simply,to leave them alone.

Maybe there are moments in life when you miss someone...a parent ,a spouse,a sibling,a friend or someone you love..so much that you want to pick them up in your dreams to hug them for real,so that once they are round ,you appreciate them more.

Maybe giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they will love you back.Don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart; but, if it doesn't ,be content it grew in yours.

Maybe you should dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be; because you have only one life and only one chance to do alll the things you dream of,and, want to do.

An Interesting building~~~

Last week when I went to Sakai with kacang and her family to look for the christain shop,we notice an interesting building with a big ferris wheel ,attach to its side.

I always thought that we can only find ferris wheel in amusement part

so I was very curious and deceided to snap these photos to show you all..

I wondered from where or should I say from what floor , can we take the ride,as I can see that the ferris wheel starts from a few floors above the building.

Another thing amusing would be ,how would those people feels when suddenly,unknown people would be looking into their office from the window,when the ferries wheel pass their window?

Don't you think this is an amusing sight,having a big ferris wheel sticking to a side of a big building in the centre of a town?

Saki's 14 years old birthday~~~

On October 29th was my daughter,Saki's birthday...

Since she wanted a simple and family birthday dinner,I've deceided not to cook and just went out to buy all these food and snacks.

We sang her a birthday song and she make a wish and blows off her candles...

Hahahahaa..just as simple as that..

I do hope she will grows up to be a gentle and kind lady..and lets just pray to god that she will have good health and many happiness ...

So ,dear Saki..Okasan would like to wish you a very happy belated birthday wishes..

Snow White~~~

Recently..in my area..computer shops are selling their computers at really low prices...I'm really not sure why...could it be, they are trying to push off XP and Vista computers as Windows 7 will be coming???

Since my old desktop, is starting to slow down..I'v deceided to ask my son,wheather he would like to buy a new computer.

I told him the price range and he agreed..and so we manage to get a set of pure white desktop...which I would call her "Snow White"...hehehheheee.

The reason is very simple...coz the monitor and the PC is all white in colour...hahahaaa...
It has a ram or memory of 4GB and its HD is 500GB with Core 2Duo..and ofcourse is a DVD super multi drive .
The monitor is big..size is 22 inches..so its like watching in high vision style...hahahaaa...
My son like to tease me,saying that even a blind person also can see well.....meaning is me coz I wear specs and can't see clearly...hahahahaaa..

When it is not in use time,I will cover it up with my handmade face towel covers...
Want to know the reason why..face towels used to make covers???
Easy...coz my house have many new face towels...so I thought why waste them???
So I sew them up into covers...kekekeee...
That is my way to keep my "Snow White" from getting dirty and dusty...

My Wine Red Princess~~~

Ever since I moved to japan, I always remember my precious car in penang.
It is a Honda Accord with the colour of wine red.
I have no choice but to sell it off, as I was preparing to leave penang...long ..long..time ago...hahahaa..

So,after my old faithful (my white car),started to give me problems,I decided to change my car.
I accidentally saw this wine red colour car,and it was love at first sight.
The reason is very simple....the colour of this car reminds me of my penang's Honda Accord.

I will name her "my wine red princess"...
It is an automatic gear car and is smooth to drive..

I am very happy as I can relived my memory of my precious car which I loved and separated.I even chose the same number plate as my previous,Honda accord's number plate...

I hope this little "wine red princess" of mine will stay with me for a long time...

Which is my real garden????

Whenever I post some plants or flowers in my blog..I was referring to my backyard garden,where I hang my laundries.

The real garden is in front of my house.It is a tranditional japanese garden with many pine trees or "matsu trees", landscaped by a professional gardener.

We do not plant any plants that we like as not to destruture the landscape.
We also have to call a gardener to come and trim the pine trees"matsu tree",twice a year,so that the shape of the trees will not be out of shape.

You can see a pine tree "matsu tree"in the photo on the right handside,as it looks like the "bonsai tree".These pine trees"matsu tree" are very important to a japanese garden.

You can see these pine trees in almost all japanese garden.
You can also see in the photo, flat granite stones,leading to my front entrance of my house.

The two pillars supporting the entrance roof is also from the pine tree"matsu tree".
Japanese like pine trees"matsu tree" very much,and that is why it is so popular in japan....

Money Tree Plant~~~

A few months ago,I saw in a drama,a certain type of plant was presented to an owner of a shop.The person who gave this plant says that it is a "Money tree plant".

I was very curious about this plant and so I went to several places to search for it.

In the end ,I found it.The original name of this plant is "Pachira Aquatica".

It is commmonly known as the money tree plant as some interesting theories such as due to the fact that it has five leaves on each branch, symbolising the 5 fundamental Feng Shui elements : Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth.

The tree have three or more stems that have been plaited together to form a single trunk.

Since this kind of plant symbolizes good wealth, nowadays, people believe not only it brings green color into your room, but also bring luck and fortune to any household, business or people you care.

The salesgirl also tells me that it is very easy to take care of theses plants as they do not need so much water or sunlight.

It can also be put inside the house as a house plant.So what better place is to chose the direction of your luckly position and place this money tree plant and lets fortune found its way to your household..

That would be nice...right???

ON september 2,my dear friend Amy(Lor Mee) gave birth to a baby daughter..
Her hubby Kenny(xiao kia) and her name their baby "Lindy",which means "music lover"..such a nice name ..

I am so happy for them and hopes that they will post more photos of Lindy soon and keeps us updated on Lindy's growth...

Obon..(japanese cheng beng)~~~

Every year on August 13 to 16,japan will celebrate its Obonお盆(por tor or cheng beng).

They will pray to their dead ancesters on these days and offering will be done.,as shown on the photo.On august 13th,the japanese people will start the obon by visiting the graves of their ancesters and call their spirits home.

In my house,our way of praying will start on august 13th,evening..we will light some special woods(chopped into small sizes) at the front entrance of the house.

It is believed to guide the dead ancesters home,as the japanese believes.This is called "mukai bon".There will also be a paper lantern with revolving lights near the altar.

The japanese also use special praying things like cucumber and egg plants with wooden chopstick stuck into them to represent horses to carry the dead ancesters back.

On the 16th august,they will carry a bit of these things and carry a small lantern to a river side to sent off their dead ancesters.

Nowadays,it is not allow to do this anymore as they will pollute the river,so the japanese usually bring these things to a near by shrine and burn them.

Bon Odori festival is also held at night and on the eve of the bon odori,fireworks will be on and also a special moh chee throwing ceremony will be held.Inside some some of these moh chee(rice cakes)..contains a piece of paper with numbers in them,so if we are lucky,we will be able to get a prize.

This ceremony is held in my area..maybe in other area..there are other ways of cerebrating bon odori.

Well,tonitght..my kids and I will be attending our bon odori..and dance ...hehehe..

Earthquake ~~~

This morning at about 5:07 am,there was a big earthquake in japan.It happened in shizuoka prefecture which is very near to my area.The meteorological agency said it is about magnitude 6.5 quake.

I was just about to get up from my bed when my alarm clock rang..at 5 am..
Then as I was about to clear up my bed..my whole house started to shake..and we all felt the tremor..all my kids started to wakeup and ran downstairs.
As I was still in a haze and enjoying the tremor,I think..I stood still in my room until the tremor stops..In my area ,we have a magnitude 4 quake..

At present there are 18 people injured but no death..thank god..but many roads and highways collapse..and also many houses too..

Death of a refridgerator~~~

Yersterday,while in the middle of a peak lunch time..my resturant refridgerator suddenly stopped working and it can't make anymore ice cubes.
My manager quickly phone the repair company to have someone to come and repair it.
In about an hour later,the repairman came and tried to repair it,but in the end ...he says that it can't be repaired anymore..
So.we have to buy alot of ice cubes and borrow alot of ice cubes from other shops..
My manager is very cheeky ..he paste a condolence obituary on the poor fridge..which says in japanese.." DEAD !!...thankyou for your long time effort"...

He jokes to us to pay our last respects to the old fridge and funeral will be held the next day..hahaha..
See..how cheeky he is...
So maybe ,today a new frigde will arrive and they will take away this old fridge..which means..its funeral...
Well..to our old poor fridge..I do agree with my manager.."thankyou so much for your long time service..and REST IN PEACE "..
Guess I am as crazy as my manager,ya!!!!!

Aunties Hotel~~~

When I was in toyota city,enjoying the summer festival..I accidently saw a hotel with an amusing name.

It is called "Hotel Aunties "..This is the first time I saw a hotel with this name.

This is the front entrance of the hotel...I wonder,if only aunties frequent this hotel..hahahaha...

Well...maybe somewhere there might be a hotel called "Hotel Uncles "...and if I do suceed to find it ,I will post for you all to see ,ya!!!!

After discovering this hotel,makes me wish that if I have money..I think I will operate a hotel and call it "Hotel Lau EE "...hahahaha...What do you all think???Nice name or not? Reason is that I am know as "Lau Eee" by my friends...kakakakaaa...

Yearly Medical Checkup~~~

Today ,I went for my yearly medical checkup...I make an appointment at 9am a few days ago at a newly open clinic near my area.
So I am not allow to eat or drink from 9pm yesterday until I finish my medical checkup..
It started with blood test and later several other things..
But ,what caught my attention was the doctor who attend to me..
I mistaken her as the cleaning lady...hahaaaaa
Now..let me tell you what I mean....
That lady doctor was over casual...wearing a simple shorts and a T-shirt and wearing slippers.She even dyed her hair orange in colour..
She was wearing the white overall over her shorts and T-shirt,but with the sleeves fold up..
She was so humble and talk to everyone..and doing all those small things,without asking the nurses to do them themselves.
That is why ,I mistook her as the cleaning lady...hahaha..
Maybe ,this is one of the reasons her clinic is so popular....coz you can hear her laughing and joking with her patients..like an old aunty having a daily chat up..
My medical check up finished at about 11 am..and by that time,I was so hungry...
So..I quickly drive to the nearest resturant to have my lunch.
I will have to go back to that clinic in one weeks time to collect my report..and I wonder what will that humble and simple lady doctor will wear..
This is the first time I saw a doctor dressing like an aunty at home..and also the way she sits also amuse me..she sits with her legs far apart..(kang kang)when she examine her patient..hahahahahhaaa..

Time fly so fast~~~

Last saturday,I went to my sister's house to enjoy with her family for the summer festival.I arrived in the morning and we chat like old times,as I do not go so often to her house.
I also chat with my 2 nieces (Erika and Riza)..They have grown so big now..both of them is taller than me now and also so beautiful..hahaha..

We all went out to lunch at a family steak house and all of us enjoyed our steak very much.When it was time to leave the steak house,I wanted to pay my share of the lunch,but my niece(Riza) stops me and she says she will treat me..hehe..
I was very touched by her action as I always think of her(Riza) as still the tiny cute schoolgirl.
Riza had started working this April and now is also driving a car.Times fly so fast...This is the first time ,I get a treat from my niece and it is a very nice feeling..

I will wait the day when Riza drive me around when she buys her own car soon..
To my dear niece ,Riza..thankyou so much..your "ee ee" is so touched by your kindness...and also to my sister kimmy..thanks alot...your family is so nice..

Bad habits dies hard~~~

I am sure all you have at least a bad habit which you can't control...
Well,I will tell you one of my bad habits...

Last night ,my son who is now enjoying his school holidays,went out with his friends for a karaoke party.He says he will be late for dinner,so I just left his dinner on the table.By 10p.m ,he was still not yet home,so I went to sleep after that..
By 3 a.m ,I wake up to go to the toilet..and I was curious wheather he did eat his dinner or not when he came home.
So I went downstairs and saw that all the dishes were in the sink,and he wrote on the white board on the door of the fridge..."okasan..I will wash the dishes in the morning,as everyone is asleep now".

I guess he doesn't want to disturb us all,and that is why he wrote that memo...
But me ,with my bad habit..I can't stand to see unwashed dishes in the sink..
So..I washed all those dishes and wipe them and put them back into the cabinet..
That is my bad habit..then after that I mop the kitchen floor as once I am stuck in the kitchen..I can't stop my hand..
By the time,I finish cleaning and moping ..it is almost 3.45 am..my daughter woke up to go to the toilet and got a shock..she thought that a robber was in the kitchen..hahahaha..

This is one of my bad habit..I tried hard to control it but to no avail...what to do??? I can't stand unwashed dishes in the sink..be it day or night...

Summer's favourites~~~

Yesterday my friend invited me to her peach orchard to enjoy her harvest of summer peaches...

I help her to harvest her peaches for about 2 hours and later ,we all have a BBQ lunch near the peach orchard..

She also served us watermelons from her farm..they are so sweet...

But I like most is the peach...so juicy and sweet..

We all have a wonderful time,chatting and putting the harvested peaches in boxes .The BBQ lunch was very nice as we enjoy BBQing meat,pork ,saugages,corns and vegetables over a wire mesh..and most of all is the cool beer...hahahaha...

When it is time to leave,my friend gave some peaches and a watermelon..

You can see them at the photos above..I have them for dinner..hahaha...so sweet and juicy...

That what I like about summer...so many nice and sweet fruits to enjoy....(^0^)

Kokedamak(Moss balls)~~~

The other day,I went shopping for some summer plants and I found one amusing type of gardening plants...

They are called kokedamak or moss balls..

They are actually moss wrap around a ball of earth and we just need to keep them damp so that the moss will growinto the earth balls.

Then in the center of the moss ball there is a small hold where you can plant in any type of small flowers plant or any green plants,then you just need to add abit of soil into that small hole to cover it up.

You can place the moss ball on a small garden plate and water them as to keep them moist.I bought several of them and place them in various parts of my home.

They are very beautiful as you can see from them the second photo above..

By looking at them,I feel they make us have a cooling feeling..against the summer heat...

Don't you thing so??? Hehehehe...

My iPhone(16 GB)~~~

I got my new iPhone yesterday,and I can't wait to show you all...kekeke...

I am still very blur blur about the setting...

It is a 16 GB with a 3G serving..and it is not so expensive as they are having a campaine now...(with discounted unlimited internet useage ).

My iPhone is black in colour and I bought a green casing to protect my iPhone from "apple store.com"The back of the iphone with the green casing looks like this in the photo above,as you can see the "Apple Icon"..through the green casing..

I am also using my son's iphone to show you the contrast of how my iPhone looks like after I encased it in green.

I spend the whole day trying to install all my favourite songs into its iPod..and also set up my address book..

I also try how to surf the internet and also watch several youtube dramas..kekeke..

I am still very confuse with its setting so maybe I will be very quite these few day...hahaha..

Wish me luck ,ya.......as an old aunty is trying to be hi-tech in iPhone settings...hahahaha.

Ready for harvesting,,my Uan Sui's seeds~~~

As I said in my previous post..my Uan Sui's plants bears flowers and later the flowers withers and they form many small green berries..

These green berries are now all turning dark brown and also drying up..

They looks like small dried peppers seeds..as you can see,I took some of them and snap their photo using my fingers as the background..hahaha..

I collected those dried seeds and sun them again on a sunny day..

I then prepare some of the seeds for planting and keep the remainers for next summer or will plant them again if the first batch of planting is not sucessful..

So,wish me luck..ya !!!Lets hope my newly harvested Uan sui's seeds will grows into many Uan Sui's plants for me this year...hehehehe..

My cute portable HDD~~~

A few weeks ago,my eldest son saw me saving my songs files into several of my pen drives,and he asked me.."Don't you get confuse which songs is in which pen drive?"I have altogether 8 pen drives...hahahaha..

I told him,all my pen drives are only 2 GB size,so when they are full,I have to put all my "things" into another pen drive.

My son says that I could put all of them into a portable HDD,and no need to keep so many pen drives.

So I joking asked him,"Are you going to present me one?"..and to my surprise he says okay...hahaha..

So ,yesterday(sunday) morning,he took me to a computer shop and let me choose for a portable HDD.

I was looking at several types and can't make up my mind,when he brought a pink portable HDD to show me.

He says,"Okasan(mummy)..I know you like pink and this portable HDD suits you fine.."

I looked at it and it was love at first sight for me,just the perfect pink...hahaha...

I told him.."wow..my favourite pink and it is so cute!!"

My son says that it can handle until 320 GB, and also it is very compact size..9cm by 12cm and weighs only 190gms.

My son says that I can carry it inside my handbag and saved all my "properties(keh hoai)" in it..hahaha..

I like the the way that it can even keep its usb cable in its usb socket as shown in the photo below..So I no need to reattach the usb cable each time I want to use it..hehehe..

I will sew a cute pink pouch to keep my cute pink portable HDD ..kekekek..

How? Do you all think it is cute or not??? Hahahahahahaaa....(^0^)

Uan Sui's seeds~~~

I hope you all remember my previous post about Uan sui's flowers.

I was so surprised that after the flowers drops off,I found that little small berries are formed.They are so cute,like little small green beads(manek)...

I will wait to see what happen when these small green beads turn ripe,maybe I will be able to get the uan sui's seeds inside.

This is the first time,I get to see real uan sui's seeds fresh..hahaha..

If I am lucky,I would be able to save the seeds for my next planting..

The above photo is our famous "Fu kwai fa".The real name of this flower is "Adenium obesum" or commonly called "desert rose".I love this flower very much but it is hard to find it in japan.

So ,today..I will show you a type of flower which is very similar with our famous "fu kwai fa"(adenium obesum)or "desert rose".

Notice the shape and struture of the flowers...from the photo above..

The name of this flower is called "Dipladenia Boliviensis"...

I like to call this flower "japanese fu kwai fa" as it is hard to call it by its real name..hahahaha..

The leaves are a bit round shape compare wit our "fu kwai fa" and it does not have that thick plant stem or obesum as "fu kwai fa" have..

If grown on the ground,it can grows quite tall and tends to climbs as cucumbers plants..They also have many colours,such as yellow,white ,dark red and pink...

At present ,I have 2 plants..one dark red flowers and another is pink flowers.

I was thinking of buy a few more plants...like having yellow flowers or pinkish white flowers is also not bad,right???

Cherry trees~~~

It is going to be summer very soon,and now there are alots of flowers and plants out for sale.

I was looking for some flowers and house plants when I saw these cherry trees for sale.

They are not so big,I think they might have been "budgrafted" type,or should I say,the "katek" (midget)type..hehehe..

They are not so expensive either,you can just buy them back and plant them in your garden.

I like these japanese cherrys,as they are soft and sweet,compare with the califonia's cherrys which are dark red in colour and are not so sweet.

The probelm is I am not sure we can get them to bear some many cherrys or not by ourselves.Those on sale are grown by the "specialist planters"..hahaha..and that is why they can afford to offer them on sale..but what happen to us who does not have "green fingers"?

Anyway,I do enjoy admiring at these cherrys trees,and hope oneday,I will have the courage to buy one of them and plant it in my garden...hehehehe..

Mother's Day(母の日）~~~

Tomorrow is going to be Mother's Day...

MY eldest son will have to leave for Hokkaido this evening so he ask me to celebrate

Mother's Day today.

He took us (my second son and daughter) to have lunch in a buffet restuarant and later I have to sent him to the train station as thier army trunk will be waiting to fetch them to the airport.

He gave me some VIT.M(￥￥￥),and ask me to buy whatever I like for Mother's Day.He just says that after I get what I wanted,I can email him the photos.

So after I sent him off at the train station entrance,I set off with my other 2 kids to the shopping mall.

I found 2 blouses which I like ..these are their photos...

You all must be wondering why I choose black background...reason is simple..

Because I have a beautiful drum can body,black makes me looks slim...hahaha..

Next is also I found a cute handbag make of rattan.Inside is like a pouch type..with a string to seal up the entrance.

My second son and my daughter wanted to share in this handbag's price with my eldest son's money.I agreed and divided the price of this handbag into 3.

I like this handbag as it is the summer fashion..I can put in all my "sampah" and just pull the string and it cannot be seen from outside...hehehe..

After the shopping mall,My daughter requested me to go to the home center,

She wanted to buy for me the "japanese version of fu kwai fa".

I told her about it when I saw it there a few days ago.I told her I wanted to plant "Fu kwai fa" so much but can't find it in japan,but I saw one plant which look so similar like it.This is the photo of my "japanese fu kwai fa"..hahaha..A present from my daughter..

Well,I am very satified with all my presents..and tonite,my daughter wanted to cook "temaki sushi" for me.I can't resist her,although I am not hungry due to over eating during lunch..

What could a mother ask more...for a Mother's Day...hehehehe...

I am glad that the children try to please me so much on this special day,even if it is a day in advance for Mother's Day...

A nice and sad thai drama~~~

Recently I have been following this thai drama with english subtitles called Botan Gleep Sudtai http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uswPpqrWEKY&feature=related
It is a drama about the early settlers who came from china and migrate to thailand.

The story is about two chinese family,one is from a chinese opera's family and another is from a chicken rice sellers family..
The dramas shows about their hardship and their children who are born in thailand...

I feel this is a very touching drama,even I can't understand thai,but I can read the english subtitles.. I have also embedded this drama's song in this blog..a beautiful song with a chinese tempo..

Hope you all will too enjoy this drama..ohh...before I end this post..let me give you all a hint...the actors are sooooooo handsomeeee....haahaha...expecially that guy called "Ah Joo or Ah Thee"..hahahahhahaaaaa..

On sunday,I was very free as the whole family was not in.They all have their own activities,so I went to see my daughter's painting which was choosen by her school in a painting contest.The photo above is my daughter's painting about a temple courtess doing a holy ceremony dance.

After that I went to look at some flowers which was on sale,and I noticed that there are several unusal coloured flowers .

The photo below is a type of flowers which are black in colour..funny,right?

As it was cloudy that day,this photo might not show it as very black,but in real..they are black in colour..hahaha..

This is the first time I saw flowers which are black in colours..

The above photo is another unusual flower which is blue and white..I also try to touch them to confirm they are real or not..hahaha..but they are real..

Next are the flowers that looks orchids..but they are not orchids..They are of a mixture of blueish white..and have tails..These flowers comes in other colours such as white and pink ...as you can see in the background..

I was very satisfied to see flower of unusal colours..

When ever I have a free time,my mind will automaticaly turns to food..

That is how I get such a beautiful face which looks like a "ban chang kueh"(chinese pancakes) and a lovely body shape which looks like a bloster cover(poh chim long).

This afternoon..I get that urge again and I deceided to cook apong..

I bought this instant pack from penang..

It is very easy to cook,but my ichy hand and my hungry mind makes me turn it to another version of apong...I add in grated coconut,cream corn and banana.

It turns into apong balik...The taste was wonderful..I just dun't know how to describe it here...hahaha..

After I finish cooking the apong,my ichy hand start to do another thing when I saw that I have many eggs in my refrigerater.I cook " Pandan Kaya"..bleanding my screwpine leaves with a bit of water.I was enjoying my my apong balik while stirring my pandan kaya...and as times goes by...I suceeded in making a sweet fragrance pandan kaya.

The photo above is my pandan kaya...the tatse is wonderful..I am going to eat it with bread tomorow and maybe I will steam some gultanious rice with santan.It tatse wonderful when taken with pandan kaya..hehe..

My Uan Sui's Flowers~~~

Recently I was in the mood for eating Hainan chicken rice again,so I cooked it ...
Then I went to my garden to pluck my "uan sui"leaves,so that I can enjoy my chicken rice.
I was very surprise to see that small white flowers blooming..and they are from my "uan sui"plants!!!!
This is the first time I see "uan sui"flowers..they are white in colour..here are the closeup photos...
"Uan sui"plants are very strong..I thought they will die in winter,but they didn't..
These "uan sui" plants are the ones ,I planted last summer..and they went through winter and recently bear flowers..
I also noticed when they bear flowers,the leaves also changes its shape..
You can see from the photo above,the "uan sui" leaves becomes thin straight leaves instead of the usual petal shapes.They looks more like "carrot's leaves"..but when you pluck the leaves,they still have that "uan sui"fragance..

I will continue to let my "uan sui" grows and see what happen to them till the end..To my dear friend who sent me the "uan sui" seeds..thanks a million..and hey see..the seeds that you sent me already become parents..bear flowers....hahahaha...

My Old Faithful~~~

Today I am going to talk about my old faithful car.The photo above is my old faithful car which have been together with me for 16 years.

It is a "Subaru Sambar"..hubby bought it for me when I have my second son.So ,this year my second son is 16 years old,so my "old faithful "is also same age..hehe..

I choose this car because I fell in love with its "auto open sunroof".I can get the feeling as if I am driving a sport car..hahaha.

I like to drive in the early evening,and enjoy the wind blowing against my hair and face with just a push of a button.It will auto open the sunroof..and also auto shut it too.

The best way to release stress and tension for me is driving my old faithful with the sunroof open and letting the cool wind blows against me..and my chinese songs blasting in my car's stereo..hahahaha..

My old faithful does not drink a lot of petrol but it has been hospitalize once with a leaking radiator.and now its air-condition is also not working too well due to old age.

I sometimes thinks of changing to another car..but later,I changed my mind as this old faithful is of "sentimental value" to me.So I think I will continue to drive it until the day it decided to leave me...

Change of systems~~~

Since April 1st,2009...japan started to have this new system,which is ..we have to bring our own shopping bags when we go shopping.

Here are some shopping bags which we will use ,when we go shopping in the supermarket.

We bring these type of bags and the cashier will put our groceries into these bags,or we can use other types ..like baskets..some supermarket also sell their own "My basket" or "My eco bag" which is like above..

Sometimes when we forget to bring any bags,we will be charge if we use the shops plastic bags.

We also keep a few emergency foldable type of nylon bag as show in the photo above.The blue in colour bag is the foldable bag,and is in a zipped form,so when you unzip it,it will looks like the brown in colour nylon bag.

The photo above also shows my area supermarket's "My basket".I bought several of them and put them in my car..

So when I finish my shopping,the cashier will just tranfer all my shopping into this "my basket" or "my eco bag".

I still find this very troblesome as sometimes,I forget to bring them with me,so that is the time..these foldable nylon bags comes in handy.

They are very light and can be kept in our handbag,I keep 3 of them in my handbag..hehe..

Now even the pharmacy is also following this system and later I think many more shops will follow too...I won't be surprise..maybe one day,they might want us to bring our own carriers when we want to buy cooked food,just like in malaysia..and what will they call them.."My tiffin carriers"????? Hahahahaha..

My Treasures~~~

Today ,I would like to show you all my personal treasures...
The photo above, are all my "sam pohs"..on the left hand side is my necklace with the 3 "sam pohs"..I wear them when I am in the house and also when I sleep for protection.

You can see the main buddha in dark brown,that was the one given by the head monk in the siamese temple.
In the centre is my "si bin hoot"(4face buddha),also in a chain necklace.
On the far right hand corner is my lady sam poh,called "nan kuat".She is the goddess of luck and also can wear off evil spirits.

The above photo is the holy sutra of the" 4 face buddha,"I bought 2 and made one of it into a triangular "hu".

I wear this "hu"with the holy sutra of the "4 face buddha"inside and also keep the 7colours strings which the head monk tied to my hand after the "water splashing" ceremony at work.I also wear my "lady goddess sampoh" in a sam poh clip as I am not allow to wear necklace when I am working,so I find the "sam poh clip"so convenient and moreover,it is very cute.

Well now ,I have shown you all my treasures and I believe all these treasures will protect me and wear off evil for me...(^0^)

Superstitious?????

I started to believe in buddhism on the day when I saw the miracle happened in front of me.It was the day when my mother breathe her last breath.I saw my mum's swollen body and face returned back to her natural appearance after the siamese monks chanted the siamese prayers and leads my mum to peace.

So ,before I came back to japan,the head monk in the siamese temple gave me a buddha pendant.I also bought several buddha pendants and also several buddha amulets and also several holy siamese sutras to be blessed by this head monk.

The above photo is the buddha pendant ,I hang it in my car for safety and protection.

At the car door,I also paste a holy "hu" ,and near the passenger seat area,I hang the holy amulet .This holy monk is believed to protect us from evil and safety driving,I heard.I also played the siamese prayers chanting in the car ,twice a month as to recharge my buddha pendant and also the holy "hu".

I bought several siamese prayers chanting CDs,and I will play them on the audio at least twice a month.The first thing in the morning when I wake up,I open all the windows and take out all my buddha pendants and place them near the CD player,then I will start to let the siamese prayers played,while I do my chores.

The above photo in red is the holy siamese sutra "hu".I put one in my living room and another in my bedroom.All the "hu" are also blessed by the head monk.

When I am at home,I will wear my 3 buddhas and when I am at work ,I will pin the "hu" inside my blouse,I also wear a buddha pendant in a buddha pin holder.

You can really says that I am very superstitious,but I do notice several changes after I adapt to this method.The playing of the siamese prayers chanting with all the windows opened in the morning was adviced by the head monk.

This is to clear out all the evil spirits and bad luck .

Nowadays,I can sleep peacefully with my 3buddhas attached to my necklace.Gone were the days when I always wake up at 3 am with "goose pimples" and heart pounding like hell.

Well,I might sounds like an old granny yakking about buddhism,but I am very happy and satified...hehe..

Panic for the wrong reason!!!!

Today,after my work,I was in a hurry to go on my errands...so I quickly put on my long sleeves blouse,my jeans and my spring coat as it is still chilly in japan.
I went to several places ,like buying the handphone USB cord for my son,and bought a steam curler for myself and then went shopping for my groceries.

When I finished all these,and on the way home,I glanced at my right hand(I Have a habit of wearing my wrist watch)to check what time it was already.I was in a panic when I found my right wrist empty..oh my god!!! Where is my wrist watch???

I returned to all the places which I have been earlier and even went to check at the service counter and also wrote down my name and handphone number,just in case someone found my wrist watch.
Everything in my head become blank and I was in panic, as that wrist watch is of "sentimental value" to me.
I even went back to my working place to check again,whether I drop it when I was changing my clothes..but it wasn't there either.

I was very sad and tired,and also sweating like hell ,driving here and there..and it was almost dinner time when I arrive home.
I wasn't in the mood to cook dinner at all,not to mention also..no mood to put away my groceries,so I asked my daughter to do it.

I was also sweating like hell and deceided to take a shower,my eyes was watery and I felt like having a big cry in the bathroom..
When I started to take off my clothing one by one..and also sobbing..my eyes suddenly caught some thing on my left wrist when I was fully naked!!!
On my left wrist is wrist watch!!!!! All the time,I was so in panic that I never even bother to look at my left wrist as I do not wear wrist watch on my left wrist..

So you see,all the panic and sobbing..for the wrong reason!!!
Have you ever in such a silly situation before???
I must be in such a big hurry that I accidentaly wear my wrist watch on my left hand and forgotten about it.
Come to think about it,sure makes me waste the whole afternoon for nothing..really so silly of me!!!!

Japanese Wimax???

Recently there are a lot of USB type of stick internet promotion at my area.These USB data stick is so easy to use and some of them are auto install..meaning is ,you just slot the USB data stick into the usb hole and it will auto install itself.Then you just have to click your internet explorer and surf the net as usual.

Some of the computer shops are promoting a service of 2 years subscribtion with this data stick and you get free unlimited usage of the internet, and also you can just buy your mini mobile computer with only 100 yen(RM3.50)..so cheap,Right?

If you don't want to buy a mini computer,you can also buy an ordinary computer and they will give you a discount of 30,000 yen(Rm900)..I still think is worthwhile..

These USB type of data stick looks just like our pen drive but a bit bigger and they can have a speed of 7.2Mbps or if the area is not so good,they are able to get at least 384kbps.

Their price is also not so expensive and reasonable...They also include the internet provider and under the same package..unlimited free usage.

At present,I am also using a card data type..and it is working well..They can also be use overseas..but then the internet surfing charge will be different..but if used inside japan..then there are no limits..all free usage...

I got a feeling the prices of these devices will drop later as many more companys will comes out with more models.As now there are only 2 companys doing these,one is emobil and the other is softbank.

At Last.a handphone of my choice!!!

My son recently bought a new" iphone" and I asked him what would he do with his "other" handphones..actually he had three handphones..

He get the message imediately and asked me..am I waiting for his handphone???...hehehe...

Ya...all of you guessed the correct answer...! I was hoping for him to give one of them to me..hahahaha..

I was aiming at one of his handphone which is the sliding type. Well ,here is the model of his handphone..still as beautiful as ever...

I have to spend the whole day,learning how to set it and how to play with its software,with my son explaining to me in details..

So,I think I will kept busy for a few days ,toying with my new toy(this handphone).

I will have to learn, how to tranfer all my favourite songs to its music player...

Don't you think this handphone is kind of cute??

I can also watch digital T.V in it..not bad ,right? and I can also record my T.V programs in it when I am too busy to watch them..hahahaha...

Going to be a nyonya soon~~~

A few days ago,I received my belated birthday presents from my dear Angie.I told her that I wanted so much to be a nyonya this summer after watching the drama.."The Little Nyonya" in youtube.

I was so happy when Angie says that my present will arrive soon ,a week ago..so each day ,I kept waiting for the postman to come.
When I open the parcel,I was very surprise to see that ,Angie gave me 3 batik sarongs and also those nyonya belts..hehe..

When I was in Penang last year,I managed to have my kebaya made,and I even requested the design myself.Well here is the photo of my kebaya..

I chose a black background with pink flowers,as I feel the colours will comes out stricking if the background is black.Another reason is that black makes me looks slim..hahaha..I think..
Here is the photo of the front neckline with the small flowers..
At the bottom of the kebaya is the most important feature,as the looks of the kebaya will be focus there.So I was very satified with this design..
Actually,I also have a pink sarong together with this kebaya,and the kebaya seamtress,Ms.Cecilia Lim has such a good workmanship...even a fatty like me can looks so sexy in a nyonya kebaya...hahahaha..
I am hoping to wear all my sarongs and kebaya this summer as it is still too cold now... To my dear Angie and Siang...thankyou so much for giving me such a wonderful present...(^0^)
I am going to be a "Nyonya" soon...just like my favourite drama,"The little nyonya"..but in this case is "The Lauee Nyonya".....

Spring is finally here...and the sakura's trees are almost all covered with all these sakura(cherry blossoms).

I promise my dear friend,Amy that I will show her the closeup shots of the sakura flowers.SO ,here are some photos of the sakura flowers and the sakura tree in full bloom..

The malaysian"sakura" sure looks like the japanese sakura from far,but if you take a look at the closeup,you will know the difference..as the malaysian "sakura" have that trumpet base,where else,the japanese sakura,does not have that trumpet base..

2009 Birthday~~~

On March 12th,was my birthday...This is the first time,I get to celebrate my birthday on different days..

What do I mean,on different days??? Well,let me start this amusing story...

On march 12th,I cooked myself a birthday dinner and celebrated it with my 2 kids as my eldest son ,could not make it ..

Then ,after my daughter played the "Happy Birthday Song" on the piano,I blew off the candle on the birthday cake..hahaha..only 1 candle...still a baby,I think I am...hahahaha..

I also received 3 "angpows" from my 3 "monkeys"..hehehe..I didn't know that my eldest son passed his "angpow" to my 2nd son,to give me..

Then on the next day,I went to "kacang's" place,to celebrate with her..hehehe..

Kacang give me a beautiful pearl necklace for my birthday present..

We went to celebrate my birthday again in a "ramen" shop and had ramen..

Well,I will soon get my sarongs and nyonya belt from Angie..hehehe..I can't wait to see how they looks like..Thank you so much ,Angie..you are so sweet...hehehe..

I also received several SMS from all my sisters ,and also birthday wishes from all my friends in facebook and also in my MSN messenger...

So ,to all my love ones,thankyou so much for the birthday presents..like pearl necklace,sarongs,belts,angpows..

Oh,I use the $$$$ from the angpows to buy myself an aroma diffuser which is shown in the photo above..

Also ,to all my sisters and friends,thank you so much for remembering my birthday..You are all so sweet....hehehehe...(^0^)...

Recently in my area supermarkets,there have been new changes..

They added a new special area for Auto Cashier...meaning is you can be your very own cashier..hehe..

The photo above is the auto cashier machine..

You just have to scan the bar code of your purchase,located at the square window,and just follow the instructions...

I asked my daughter to do the auto cashier process,while I took these photos with my handphone.

Notice the plastic bags on the left hand side..you can open them out to be ready when you have scaned your purchase and just put it into these plastic bags.

But ,from this April 1 st,onwards we will be charge a small amount if we use this plastic bag,so we would have to use our own shopping bags or shopping basket to bring back our purchase.

After scanning all the purchase,the t.v icon will show ,how much you have to pay.It is really very easy,just like a ATM machine,you just have to press whether you want to pay by cash or by credit card.

This time ,I purposely try to pay by cash..the process is just like an auto venting machine for soft drinks.

You just have to insert the notes into the machine and also coins.The amount will automatically appear in the t.v icon.So even if you do not have small changes,you can over pay,and the small changes will comes out in another compartment of this machine.

I find this system is very nice as the next person will have to wait in a yellow line,until there is a vacant machine available.

There are eight machines,four on each row,so we have our own privacy..scaning and paying for our purchase.

There are the normal cashier area also where the cashier will attend to you,but sometimes,they are so crowded and I feel this auto cashier machine will sure comes in handy.

You do not need to worry even if you make a mistake as there is also a buttom to press for help.A sales personal will come and assist you...not bad ,right???(^0^)

As usual,I will always looks forward to enjoy my weekend by watching as many as i can my favourite dramas..but this weekend ,I was so disapointed as some online dramas website were ban from showing these hong kong dramas.

So,even from some of the other website which allowed us to see,they were lagging very bad,maybe due to the heavy flow of online users..

I found a few dramas which are interesting like.."The royal tramp".."Marriage of inconvenience".."The greatest of a hero"..and "General Pao"..interesting..

So anyone of you have any interesting dramas titles to share with me?..hehehe...

After staying in japan for so many years,I found that there are several amusing things about japanese people.
One of them is they are crazy about slippers.Now ,why do I say this???
The reason is there are so many kind of slippers for every reason.
For instant,when you want to enter a japanese household,the host will put a pair of slippers for you to wear.
Then if you want to enter the toilet,there is another set of slippers,specially for toilet use!!!
Then the school children too have to take out their outdoor shoes when they enter school and change into their indoor slippers before entering their classroom,and offcourse in the school toilets too have several sets of toilet slippers..

Another amusing thing about japanese ,is when you are in a japanese home,do not enter the kitchen.
The japanese woman does not like anyone to invade her kitchen,so unless she invite you to help her out,it is a taboo to enter her kitchen ,even it it means to help her wash up the cups or what...

Another amusing thing is I noticed is the ladies will use their hand to cover their mouth when they laugh..I mean not those short laugh..

I best is I like about their culture is when you want to cross the road and when there is no zebra crossing.You just have to put up one hand and the cars which are coming your direction will slow down and stop for you to pass.I wonder if this practice can be done in our own country??

Another amusing thing is that when in a clinic..there are usually children books on the rack beside other magazines.
Those japanese mothers will read those children books for their kids to hear..so you can just imagine..on one bench ,there are at least three mothers reading different books at the same time..amusing,right???

Today I am going to talk about Ikebana(japanese flower arranging)..
Ikebana have a history of over 600 years.It is one of the Japanese major cultures and is very popular in japan.
School children are taught the art of ikebana in school and there are also ikebana classes held by professional ikebana teachers everywhere in japan.

Ikebana is not just to put flowers into a vase but to enable the arranger to imbue the arrangement with some meaning or personal expression.
My daughter did her ikebana at school recently and this is one of her creation.I put this ikebana of hers in my house main entrance.

As the japanese always believes that you can tell the feelings and charater of the person by viewing his or her ikebana,by the way of how ,he or she arranged her flowers..

A very good example is by looking at my ikebana of our chinese new year plants..pussy willow..
See how they turn out ..hahaha...my children says they looks like lonely skeleton sticks in a vase...hahahahhaa...

Well ,I better try to improve my ikebana in future..hehe..coz so pity my "happy buddha" sitting next to my so called" lonely skeleton sticks (pussy willow)in a vase."..hahahhaha...

Hainanese Chicken Rice~~~

Today being Saturday and I am off,I just feel the urge to eat our famous hainanese chicken rice.So I deceided to cook it and pamper myself today.After I washed my face ,I started to cook breakfast for my family and also prepared my hainanese chinese rice.I even cooked a clear soup with the remaining chicken stock.I bought the garlic chillies from an international shop,and it taste just like our chinese rice garlic chilies..hehehe..

I even cooked "bor bor cha cha" for my dessert...hehe..see how I enjoy my meals..hahaha..

I am going to enjoy my saturday offday with my lunch and dinner with hainanese chicken rice,coz my kids dun't take malaysian food..so I will eat until I put on weight again..hahahahaha..

Chai Boey~~~

When I was in Penang last year for CNY,my eldest sister teach me how to cook "chai boey".This dish is very popular whenever we have leftovers of roast pork(siau bak).I learned to love this dish very much as the taste get more and more better if we heat it up again the next day and continue to heat it up again until we finish eating the whole pot of this soup.

The probelm is I can't find roast pork(siau bak) in japan,so I tried to make it myself.I use two kinds of pork..soft bone spareribs and "sam chan bak".

I rubbed the pork with salt and pepper and I added a bit of "five spice powder(goh hiang hoon"(五香粉）.I then keep them overnight and the next morning I just grille them until they are cooked.I found out that they tasted just the same as our roast pork(siau bak).

Then I just boil the roast pork(siau bak) with vegtables(taur chai),garlic and add 3 pieces of dried chillies and biled until the vegetables and pork are soft.I then add in "assam poi"(assam slices) and boil it again for about 10 minutes,this time,I put in a bit of salt ,soya sauce and a bit of ajinomoto to get the correct taste.

After so many years of staying in japan,I found something amusing about japanese women when they talk on the phone.
Almost 90% of them will talk in a high tone voice when they are speaking with the other party(phone call).This will occur usually when the other party is a stranger or someone not to well known to her.

In my family too,I listen to my mother in law and my two sisters in law ,speaks when they use or answer the phone..just so funny..their voice automatically change to be like a young girl's voice..so high tone...
But when the phone call is from someone they know too well ,like family members..they will speak with their normal voice..funny right?

At first I thought ,it is only the female members of my family speaking like that..
but I was wrong..in my working place too,almost 90% of the female staff speaks like that when they answer the phone call...

I find this so amusing..as some of these ladies have such low tone when they speak normally,but when they answer the phone..so automatic..the voice pitch is so high tone..unbelievable..hahaha...
I wonder if anyone of you too is speaking like that or not???? (^-^)

Mother and son's kinship~~~

Yesterday,being a special school day in my area,both my kids were in school and I have the whole house to myself..
Just as I was watching my drama online,my eldest son phone me to pick him up at the train station...

When I fetched him,he says he wanted to have his haircut in a well know Unisex Salon..I told him I wanted to try that Unisex salon too but the price they charged there is expensive..then he told me he will pay for me.So,we both have our haircut in that Unisex salon..hehe..

Later after our haircut,he says he is hungry and so we went to a nearby steamboat restaurant to have our lunch.The steamboat lunch was great as it is winter now in Japan,and it did warm us up..
During our steamboat lunch,I received a phonecall from my computer technician,who inform me that my laptop is ready to be collected anytime.
My son asked me what happenned to that laptop,as it was the laptop ,he give me after he bought a new sony viao laptop.I told him that the technician says the keyboard need to be change and it is quite expensive,so I told the technician I will collect it when I have time.
My son then asked me what happenned to the Japanese new year angpow which he gave me?I told him that I spend all of it during the japanese new year's time,so I am very "broke" now.
I was very surprised when after lunch,he told me to go and collect my laptop from the technician,and he says that he will pay that fee for me...he says since he is the one who gave me that laptop,he will take responsiblity to give it in a working condition..hahaha..
So we went to collect the laptop,and on the way there I was talking to him in the car..I told him that my Chinese New Year will be next week on january 26..I told him this year I am very sad ,as I would not be celebrating it, as my mum had just passed away,so I will not be going to kacang's house.
I told him even I can't celebrate CNY,but the feeling of CNY is still in my heart..but what to do..I am very "broke" right now....

In the evening after dinner,all my 3 kids were in the living room with me,and my eldest son says like this to me.."Okasan..here is some money(￥20,000=RM650) for you to use for your CNY..I know you says you can't celebrate it this year but you can use this money to buy something you like..then you won't feel so sad and lonely.."
My second son and my daughter saw what their elder brother did and they both also says.."Okasan..dun't worry too much..we too will give you anypow on CNY like oonisan(big brother) did just now.."

I was in seven heaven,as it is not the money that counts but the thoughts of the kids that knows, how to comes into my heart is so wonderful..
Well at present..I am a bit "rich" now..will go to the department store these few days and chose sometime nice for my myself..hehe..who knows..maybe I will go on january 26(CNY) to do my shopping and enjoy my own knd of CNY..hahahaha..
